Truth of the Prophecy: Chapter 11

Chapter 11

The boulder was suddenly smashed into pieces. Pachacamac noticed Mikee panting and used that to his advantage. He suddenly rushed at Mikee and grabbed her arm then spun her around and tossed her to a tree. Pachacamac was about to deliver the final blow when Mikee suddenly rushes towards Pachacamac and punches him hard in the face making him lose his balance. Mikee trips Pachacamac then kicks him hard in the side making him land on the trees.

Pachacamac: You insolent little brat!!

Pachacamac immediately rushed at Mikee, but when he was about to punch her, Mikee teleported above him and did a Screw Kick. Pachacamac swiftly dodged it and grabbed Mikee's arm. She tried to break free but it was futile, Pachacamac threw Mikee up in the air. Mikee balanced herself and levitated in the air, waiting for Pachacamac to follow her.

Mikee (thinking): Come on, let's finish this already.

Pachacamac (thinking): Do not think I do not know what you're planning child. I am not as idiotic as you are.

Without waiting another second Mikee rapidly threw Emerald Spears directly at Pachacamac, he was barely able to dodge them. Pachacamac waved his staff and a wave of Chaos Energy was heading towards Mikee, she swiftly dodged it but Pachacamac made another wave of Chaos Energy hitting Mikee dead on. Mikee landed on the ground with the thud, but she quickly got up. She rushed at Pachacamac preparing to hit him with her fist full of Chaos Energy.

Pachacamac: This tactic again? You really haven't learned your lesson, have you?

Pachacamac prepared himself for the punch, but it never came. At the last second Mikee teleported out of sight leaving Pachacamac dumbfounded. Mikee was hidden behind the trees, she made an Emerald Blade and charged at Pachacamac. He saw Mikee run towards him and dodged her. Mikee teleported in all directions to confuse Pachacamac. Finally, Pachacamac's back was turned and Mikee stabbed him in the chest.

Pachacamac: GAH!

Mikee pulled the Emerald Blade out of Pachacamac's chest, Pachacamac dropped to the ground like a stone. There was a few moments of silence, nothing was moving like time suddenly stopped. Finally, Mikee approached Pachacamac which was holding the spot where he was impaled. There was no blood but the pain was real. The Emerald Blade vanished from Mikee's hand as she started to walk away. Mikee took one final glance at Pachacamac's un-moving body which vanished from thin air. Mikee felt like crying, but she held back her tears walking to her teammates who were waiting for her. As Mikee was walk, she returned to her normal state, her eyes returning to their normal light gray color, her strength slowly vanishing.

Mikee was exhausted. Her body trembled and ached as she slowly began to approach her teammates, limping. Each step she took sent a violent wave of pain running through the course of her bones and muscles. Just as she was about to get within arms reach of them, she collapsed, and fainted. Alter quickly grabbed her before she hit the ground, then encased his hand in solid ice. From there, he made contact with Mikee's forehead. A calm, soothing aura surrounded the two as Alter healed Mikee's wounds and restored small amounts of her power, losing some of his energy in the process. The echidna slowly opened her eyes and looked up at her teammates.

Alter: You okay?

Mikee: I-I'm....fine..

Alter took Mikee by the hands to try to help her stand. She took small steps, but had enough energy to stand on her own. As Alter started to lead Mikee away to begin her slow recovery, Syber walked away from them and towards where Pachacamac last was. Mikee and Alter looked right at him with questionable glances.

Mikee: Syber?....What are you doing?

Syber: Even though he is gone, when a living creature dies, their energy and their soul remain in this world temporarily before they truly move on.

Syber held out his hand above the spot where Pachacamac vanished, and Alter and Mikee saw green energy flow out of the ground and into Syber's palm. Once it took on the shape of a small ball, it was absorbed into Syber's hand, and his eyes flashed green for a brief moment before returning to normal.

Syber: His energy remained.....His soul is not here.

Syber then walks back towards Mikee and Alter and passes them, ready to leave.

Syber: Come. We are leaving

Mikee: Actually, you two go on ahead I'll stay for a minute

Alter: Are you sure?

Mikee: Yeah.

Alter turned to Syber to see if that was really a good idea after all that's happened, but when he looked, Syber was nowhere to be found. Alter looked around in surprise for a few moments before just giving up on it. He turned back to Mikee.

Alter: Alright then. See ya, Mikee.

Minutes later, it was night time, and Mikee found her way to the library again where she was staring at the picture of her parents and recalling what just happened to her in the past few hours.

Mikee: Well….At least I know that had parents….

Mikee was about to get up and leave when she suddenly remembered about the shard that was in her chest. She was determined to take it off. She tried everything that she could think of to get it out, without killing herself of course. But she thought about the consequences on what would happen if she took it out. If she did take it out then most of her powers will be gone and she will lose the connection to the Master Emerald, she would simply be a normal Echidna. Mikee didn't want that, she would miss all the adventures she would have, saving the world from total destruction, and stopping Eggman from taking over the world.

She ceased her actions and sighed. She left the library and decided to go to the flower garden not far from the Master Emerald shrine where she climbed her favorite tree and sat down on a branch and looked up to the moon.

Mikee: Maybe it's not so bad to have this thing inside of me. Besides…..if I did take this out, I won't be able to beat Sonic anymore.

She smiled to herself and closed her eyes, thinking about what would happen for the next days to come and how she would explain to Knuckles what happened to the old temple.
